Celebrate the proud heritage of the Scots Guards with this officially licensed Scots Guards Cap Badge Display Frame. Tracing their origins to 1642, the Scots Guards are one of the oldest infantry regiments in the British Army. Re-formed following the Restoration and officially named the Scots Guards in 1877, the regiment is the third regiment of Foot Guards. Throughout its long and distinguished history, the Scots Guards have served with honour in conflicts including the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimean War, both World Wars, the Falklands War, Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, the regiment continues its dual role of operational service and ceremonial duty as part of the Household Division, guarding the Sovereign and representing the British Army on occasions of national importance.

About the Badge

The Scots Guards cap badge takes the form of the Star of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle, Scotland's highest order of chivalry. At its centre is a thistle, the national emblem of Scotland, enclosed within a green circlet bearing the historic motto Nemo Me Impune Lacessit (“No One Provokes Me With Impunity”). Beneath the thistle is the Cross of St Andrew, symbolising Scotland's Patron Saint and reinforcing the regiment's proud Scottish heritage.

Unlike many British Army cap badges, the Scots Guards badge is not surmounted by a Royal Crown. Its distinctive crownless design has remained a defining feature of the regiment's insignia throughout its history. As the third regiment of Foot Guards, the Scots Guards are distinguished on ceremonial dress by buttons arranged in groups of three, while Guardsmen uniquely wear no plume in the bearskin cap, making the regiment instantly recognisable during State Ceremonial duties.

You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup if you are in Plymouth, Devon. Please select collect from shop at checkout.

How do I check the status of my order?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from me which will include a tracking number (if over 2kg) you can use to check its status. Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become available. 

If you haven’t received your order within 7 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact me at info@thecraftyblackdog.co.uk with your name and order number, and I will investigate it for you.

Returns Policy

If you’re looking to return or exchange your order for whatever reason, I am here to help! Returns are to be made within 30 days of purchase. You can return your product for store credit, a different product, or a refund to the original payment method.

I accept returns up to 30 days after delivery, (excluding clothing)  if the item is unused and in its original condition, I will refund the full order amount. The cost of the return is to be made by the customer.

If your order arrives damaged in any way, please email me as soon as possible at info@thecraftyblackdog.co.uk with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. I address these on a case-by-case basis but will try my best to work towards a satisfactory solution.

To initiate a return, please complete the following steps:

  1. Reply to your order confirmation email to request which products you would like to return.
  2. Ensure the item is in the original packaging and please return to:

Additional Information:

  • If you have asked for a refund, this will be initiated within 2 working days of the item being received.
  • The customer will pay for all returns less damaged items.
  • There are no restocking fees.
  • Please report any missing items 3 days after the expected delivery date. I will then raise the issue with the carrier and keep you updated with any response. In the instance of a loss, once confirmed lost by the carrier I will send a replacement free of charge. I can not do this until the carrier confirms the loss of the item(s).

My Battle with the Black Dog...

TheCraftyBlackdog has been created from my own battle with the Black Dog - a term most commonly used to describe a state of depression.

This was something I had unknowingly been battling for over 20 years following my time in the military. It wasn’t until I became a mother and I could no longer do the things I used to do, to escape, that things started to unravel and I had to ask for help, that was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, making that admission.

I first became interested in arts and crafts in 2019 whilst at a place called ‘Combat Stress’ in Surrey, this is where Military Veterans like myself can go and get help for Mental Health matters. Whilst there I discovered Art Therapy (I hated art at school!) and a love for making things in the OT room. I started by making Remembrance Day related crafts and this quickly moved onto Military Insignia.

The Black Dog has stolen the mass of confidence I used to have, so I am hoping this adventure will help me to connect with people again and inspire those of you out there also having your own battle, it is one that may never be won, but it certainly can be helped.
